What is it?
Supply chain management is the management and logistics of the flow of goods and services, involving packaging, storage, inventory management, and transportation. Technology, GPS tracking, and “internet-of-things” (IOT) are increasingly making supply chain management more efficient and cost- effective, reducing time and wasted materials.
What will I do?
As a logistics and distribution manager, you will organize the collection, storage and distribution of goods. A logistician analyzes and coordinates an organization’s supply chain, which is the system that moves products from the manufacturer to the end user. A supply chain manager works with vendors to secure parts and raw materials to produce products and goods, and analyzes how much inventory is needed based on predicted sales.
