What is it?

If you’ve ever been in a hospital, or visited a loved one in a hospital or nursing home, chances are you have had interaction with a nurse. Nurses are on the front-line of patient care, interacting with patients most frequently, and helping them with their day-to-day care. The entry-level role is a Certified Nursing Assistant, giving you the foundation to become a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

What will I do?

Nurses focus on patient care, making sure that patients are comfortable and their needs are met. You will monitor vital signs of the patient, such as temperature and blood pressure and check medicine levels. You will make sure patients are well-fed and hydrated. Nurses assist doctors in the hospital or office, and make sure their patients understand ongoing treatments.
